2023 Hyundai Palisade Exterior

The grill is what everyone is talking about, and I think it’s cool. It’s a bit futuristic, but I think it’s updated and fresh. There are a few minor updates to the side profile that I’m liking—the wheels are stunning, the fender elongates the body, and the chrome detailing is beautiful. And the body colored chrome door handles? *chefs kiss.*

Not too much has changed from the previous model, but I really like the outside of the 2023—it’s fresh and it’s on trend.

I am not kidding when I say that I want the person who is designing the interior of these Hyundais to design my kitchen. I love what they’ve got going on right now. So let’s start with the driver’s seat. The details on the door are dar-ling. I mean, the way the white-ish wood, leather, and chrome all work together… There's a lot going on, but in a good way. It’s so cohesive and if I didn’t know better, I would totally think I’m sitting in a luxury vehicle.

The steering wheel is completely redesigned, and I do think it’s a bit much. The white feels like it’s going to be spray tan city, but it’s fine. The 2023 has the same beautiful digital dash and display, with one big, new addition—the rear view camera.

I still absolutely love the cubby space between the front two seats—it’s perfect for my purse or snacks or whatever mom things you need. I like the cupholder situation and the center console is a great size.

2023 Hyundai Palisade Second Row Details

Not much has changed back here. There’s still great knee clearance, ceiling vents, and a sunroof. There are two cup holders and heated and vented seats. My one complaint about the second row is that the bench seat only comes on the lowest trim level and… it’s trash garbage. The middle seat is way too narrow, so I actually prefer the captain’s seats in this vehicle.

2023 Hyundai Palisade Third Row Details

So, technically this is a three seater third row but the middle seat back there was absolutely not made for people to actually sit in. It’s, like, barely bigger than my iPhone 11 (I’m not kidding). The main issue I have with it is the car seat situation, though. There are tether anchors on the middle and outboard seats, but like I said… the middle seat is too narrow so those tethers are basically useless. So, that only leaves three total positions in the car for forward facing seats.

The lower anchors back there are also off-center, which means you couldn’t use them for a booster. And, because the seats are so shallow, it’s tough (but not impossible) to get a good install. So with all of that in mind, my preference is actually to just not use the third row for car seats (because it’s also hard to access them back there).

A few positives, though, (especially if you don’t need car seats back there) is that there are ceiling vents, good cup holders, USBs, and even heated seats.

2023 Hyundai Palisade Trunk

There’s not a whole lot to say here. It’s a good size for this type of car, especially if the third row is down. There’s also a little bit of extra storage space beneath the floor.

2023 Hyundai Palisade Wrap Up

To sum it up, I continue to be a huge Palisade fan especially if you’re a family that doesn’t need more than two car seats or has older kids. If that’s your situation, this one is hard to beat, but if you need a three car seat situation, things might get a little tricky, so just make sure you’re really considering your family’s needs.
